Legends of Blidinje
Located on the east side of the mountain Čvrsnica there is a natural phenomenon of amazing beauty known as Hajdučka Vrata. It is a geomorphological landform of a solid rock in the shape of a ring through which strong winds blow. This “door” on the mountain was being created for centuries by the natural conditions present on the site. According to a legend it is a place were the outlaws of the region officialy became members of the band known as hajduci. Once they went through Hajdučka Vrata (the stone door) they took a pledge to take care of the band and be its respectable member. According to the legend, every man who passed through Hajdučka Vrata became resistant to bullets. Being located at 2000 meters above sea level it was a perfect place where hajduci were safe from all chases and pursuits.
