The 300 years old house of the Stojković family is located in the village of Zabrđe in the northern part of Luštica Peninsula. This household is featured by a long maritime tradition about which Jovan proudly tells everyone who visits his home. As he says, generations of the Stojković family were into maritime and earned money which they sent to their families in order to increase their wealth through the purchase of more land, by building houses, rainwater tanks, threshing floors etc. Numerous documents and files, which are over 300 years old, as well as various antiquities, made of ceramics and glass, which were brought home by sailors, witness of the long maritime tradition.

In addition to the family being famous for its prominent sailors, it also has a long tradition of producing olive oil and other homemade products. This is also illustrated by the tavern on the ground floor of the house where there is a mill and press for olive oil production, as well as by a specific stone oven built in the wall, without a chimney, which functioned by putting embers into it. It is interesting that cooked ashes were used for disinfection of dishes and containers for olive oil. Today, the tavern is converted into a family museum, which serves as a witness of past times and is complimented with old photographs and household elements that were once used.

Within the Stojković family estate, there is also a family threshing floor where the family gathered for centuries and celebrated many holidays. From this place there is a fantastic view of the Boka Bay and it represents a perfect place for a break. Right on this elevation, you can enjoy folk dances of the folk ensemble, which perfectly present and preserve folk tradition. Jovan learned to play the accordion as a child and often hosts lovers of folk dance and music, while preserving from oblivion traditional dance and songs of the Boka Bay, as well as from other parts of Montenegro and the region.

After a short break which is reserved for a panoramic view of the Bay, the family will offer you their specialties that will complete the experience of this place. Be sure to try the excellent homemade almond and fig cake with carob brandy which is a perfect aperitif, and guests who like homemade liqueurs can taste those flavoured with cherry or cornel.
